At the heart of The Center's educational
practice is the work of art, selected for its high quality
and richness as a teaching resource. Each year The Center
offers a varied repertory of live theater, dance and music
performances and visual arts exhibits. During the school
year, performances may be main staged or tour our
participating schools. Architecture and writing will also be
part of Summer Session this year.

I Hear America Singing
Tales and Scales
America's poetry brought to the stage by blending classical
instruments, driving percussion, dance, chanting, and choral
harmonicas. Highlighting the poetry of such masters as Walt
Whitman, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou and Sara Teasdale,
this Musictale explores the process of finding one's place
in today's world.

RumbaTap
Max Pollack
An explosive, dancing body percussion celebration.
Inspired by the intense energy of Afro-Cuban culture,
RumbaTap combines body percussion, saxophone, guitar and
rhythm tap in exciting new ways. David Gonzalez calls it a
"multi culti attack…!"

Stuart Little
E.B. White produced by Rochester Children's Theater
The many adventures--both big and small--of Stuart
Little,
a pleasantly debonair little character with a shy, engaging
manner, are brought vividly to life in this story theatre
production.

And Then They Came for Me:
Remembering the World of Anne Frank
Rochester Children's Theatre proudly presents this important
and inspiring multi media theatre piece about the Holocaust.
Combining video taped testimony and theatrical reenactments,
And Then They Came For Me brings to life the true stories of
two survivors, Eva Schloss and Ed Silverberg. Both Ed and
Eva knew Anne Frank prior to going into hiding. Eva's mother
married Anne's father after the war.

The Lion's Whiskers
Catskill Puppet Theater
A delightful musical adaptation of a traditional Ethiopian
folktale. Lonely Yeshimbet marries a widower with a son,
seeks the wisdom of a wise man, and finds the courage to
tame a lion and the secret to gaining the love of her new
family.
